Many of the people who live in my retirement community, Pilgrim Place, do so, as do some of my academic peers. But I have repeatedly postponed such an enterprise for a variety of reasons and might easily have kept postponing until my ability to carry it out was long gone. Current opportunities and needs always seemed more important. Indeed, I was not sure of what use any autobiography I might write would be.

But from the process perspective, various desiderata should always be considered. When candor is cruel or dangerous, it may have to be set aside, at least for a while. On the other hand, when candor is too long postponed, the values for [...]<div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style addthis_32x32_style" addthis:url='http://currentsoffaith.com/2008/06/11/is-it-time-for-candor-speaking-out-on-israel-and-palestine/' addthis:title='Is it Time for Candor?
